A peaceful and quiet religious retreat is the spiritual home of believers. Dear followers of Buddhism, Boshan Zhengjue Monastery will host annual “Sunshine Life” summer camp for university students from June 24 to June 30 of 2016, and meanwhile, “Sunshine Life” summer camp for senior high school students and “Compassion and Wisdom” Chan meditation class for teachers would be held for the first time too. The purpose of the activities is to provide a place for numerous teachers and students to learn Buddha’s teachings and get familiar with the unique and fascinating religious culture of Buddhism; and thus, they can work and live their lives in a calmer, relaxed, more auspicious and satisfactory way.
In order to guarantee the smooth operation of those summer camps and Chan meditation classes, we still need the help and support from numerous volunteers and Buddhisattvas. Assistance is needed for jobs like early-stage preparation, field service, and wrapping up work in the last phase.
The title of volunteer is an honorific one, for the involved work is the most valuable offering through one’s body, words and thoughts. Voluntary workers can practice Buddhism in work and service with Buddhist masters. Therefore, they can have a better understanding of culture and Buddhism, sharpening professional skills through altruistic behavior and effective teamwork. Such kind of activities can also render us more compassionate and sociable, thus paving the way for more karmic rewards and accumulating great wisdom. The benefits are beyond measure for those who have made up their minds to be a volunteer.
1. Requirements for Volunteers Healthy, without any contagious disease; aged between 18 to 60, both male and female workers are welcomed, law-abiding, believing in Buddhism, modest and gentle, courteous and responsible, as well as willing to make a contribution.
Sanitation, order maintenance, site layout, residents’ apartment services, help in the kitchen, dining hall service, paperwork secretary, video recording and photo shooting, video post-production work, interviewing and editing for news report, medical care et al.

Please report for duty in the reception room of the monastery with your ID card on July 21. On that day, we will provide volunteers with training, making division of labor and doing preparation for the activities.
