The Buddhism painting and calligraphy art is one of the most important components of Chinese art and culture. It has its unique historical meaning and it is the essential carrier to spread the Chinese traditional culture. At the beginning of building Zhenjue Monastery in 2012, Ven. Master Ren Da already endowed Zhenjue Monastery a special task: to be a carrier of Buddhism culture, to inherit, carry forward and grow Buddhism culture. Therefore, Painting and Calligraphy Institute of Zhengjue Monastery successfully organized the first annual painting and calligraphy exhibition – “Magnificent Zhengjue” in Oct 2015, while the construction of Zhengjue Monastery and the consecration ceremony was accomplished.The exhibition was fully supported by different social communities, both domestic and international artists were participated in the exhibition. It promoted the flourishing of Buddhism art and culture.
In order to advance Chinese traditional painting and calligraphy, BoshanZhengjue Monastery decides to host “Magnificent Zhengjue” exhibition annually. In preparation of 2016 “Magnificent Zhengjue” exhibition, we are calling the art works from both inland and overseas.

五、征稿对象：面向海内外书画艺术家、佛教书画爱好者广泛征稿
5.Participants:Artistsand amateurs of Buddhism painting and calligraphy
(1)Painting and Calligraphy Institute will invite experts to form screening committee. The committee will screen all received works and choose 200 pieces for exhibition. No different levels of awards for all selected works. All selected works will be collected by Zhengjue Monastery after exhibition. The collection certificate, souvenir consecrated by Ven. Master Ren Da and published art work collections of 2016 “Magnificent Zhengjue” will award to authors of the selected pieces.
(2)All received works will treat as donate to BoshanZhengjue Monastery. All rights including propaganda, publishing, exhibition and charity sale are reserved by BoshanZhengjue Monastery.
七、投稿要求
7. Requirement
1、以弘扬佛教及传统文化艺术为主题，向大众传递慈悲、智慧、和谐、向上的正能量。
(1) The main theme of art work need to focus on spread Buddhism and Chinese traditional culture. The works need to deliver positive energy such as: compassion, wisdom, harmony.
(2) All works need to be original, no duplicate submission allowed. The submitted works should not invade third parties rights including copyrights, portrait rights, reputation, and privacy, etc. The author is legally liable for any of above actions.
3、书画作品以六尺整纸以内为主，风格不限。书法、篆书作品（不收篆刻作品）需附释文。
(3) The size of all works should not exceed 96 x 178 cm, there is no restrictions on the style of the work. For a given calligraphy work, a translation must be provided along with the submission. No seal carving is accepted.
(4) For all submissions, please add following notation on the work: “Submission to 2016 Magnificent Zhengjue – the second annual painting and calligraphy exhibition”. Additionally,a confirmation letter is also needed to provide the detail information about the work and author, e.g. the title of the work, the contact information of the author, etc. On the back of the work, please write down author’s name, contact number, as well as the title of the work using pencil in right bottom. The electronic version of the confirmation letter could be downloaded at www.zhengjuesi.org in announcement section.
5、投稿作品要符合主题要求、资料齐全，否则不予参加评选。

(3) Exhibition place: Painting and Calligraphy institute of BoshanZhengjue Monastery.
(4) During the exhibition, the organizer will provide reception services to authors whose work is selected for exhibition (including lodging and boarding, on spot events for artists, etc). The author will be responsible for commute expense to BoshanZhengjueMonastery.
